Nice way to push this onto the new administration.

I guess you missed the whole Private VS Public thingy.

Again, I think you missed the whole "why didn't they want to get private players involved in 2011" ? why wait until 2018. that's 7 years lost in time

Nice way to pass the buck to next administration.

Who's to say they didn't? Don't forget the economy barely had a pulse back then. Not a lot of people wanting to throw money around on huge projects with ???? on return.

Did they? show me where they submitted the bids or inviting bids from private parties.

Why are lot of people ready to throw money now? what has changed?

Scott wasn't looking to build one especially with a chunk of stimulus $$ with no further help with the cost. He wasn't going to stick tax payers with the future never ending bills. If private parties wanted to step forward and build it on their dime like these people proposed, I am sure the gov would of looked at it. It was never a campaign proposal or promise when he was running for gov either time he ran.

But as long as it's a private entity, more power to 'em.
The train will travel at 125 mph on a dedicated railway with no stops and zero traffic, since when do cars travel that fast on a highway? Your statement doesn't make sense. The travel time between Tampa and Orlando will literally be cut in HALF, not to mention the comfort of sitting in a sleek and modern air-conditioned train with amenities as the world zooms by. Not sure how you could possibly not see the benefit in that?

The existing introductory Brightline route in South Florida has already proven to be extremely successful just within South Florida alone, ridership counts for the first few months of operation has already EXCEEDED expecations by a landslide. The Orlando phase will only amplify this tenfold and is already highly anticipated, the Orlando phase is going to forever revolutionize inter-city travel within the state of Florida.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but no need for the negative bashing for something that is extremely positive for the future of our state, and as you stated it is privately funded. What else is there to say really?
