Road work has been going on here since the 60's and it never is enough. Not then and not now.

The good news is the county FINALLY heard the message on the commute problem loud and clear and has moved up plans to improve the I-75/Big Bend interchange. There's already other road work under way. Shame on the county officials for letting it get this bad, and honestly can't understand why it's a 4 year construction effort - but there's hopefully light at the end of the tunnel.

Timeline to fix Big Bend interchange in Riverview moves up dramatically
Very well stated. Gotta hold govt accountable when its not being proactive.

Isn't that why people vote?

The people never really vote for their choice, they vote for the choice of those who have decided to run. When your choices are either "really bad" or "not as bad" it's seems most of the time it's not really a vote for anyone but a vote against the other person.

For some elections that for sure is the case. At the end of the day its up to the voters to make their voices heard.

Exactly - so what have you done lately to have your voice heard?

If all one does is depend on a vote, nothing gets done. Knocking on doors, calling, complaining gets the govt moving. There's not enough of that in this area.

Your job prospects drop if living over here. You really can’t take anything west of tampa proper or you will be killing yourself in commuting. Meaning if you have to cross a bridge into Pinellas.

Fortunately, I wasn't one of those people who ignored all the "red lights" flashing when looking at one of the new mega housing developments. The ones with primitive infrastructure all around it with open land surrounding it. Never once asking if the roads can handle all these new cars soon to be driving on it. I know how slow the county will react, I seen it time and time again while working in these developments decade after decade. My eyes were wide open when I bought my new home having to drive all over Hillsborough and the four counties surrounding it. I found the sweet spot and I have not moved since 1988. When commuting is no longer my number one concern, I will certainly entertain moving someplace else in the Tampa Bay Area.

You have totally avoided answering the question but instead choose to misdirect. Got it! As I thought, you talk the talk but don't walk it.
