Hello! In addition to City-Data, I really need to find some free, trustworthy, and accurate websites and/or resources for determining crime for particular areas. Please recommend (DM me) those that have stood the test of time and that you can honestly rely on. Thank you.

Guess City-Data is still the best resource on this.

A crime map overlay and indicates the data is provided by SpotCrime.com and CrimeReports.com. There is also CrimeMapping.com. Some cities use My Neighborhood Update. I would suggest contacting the local police and/or sheriff's department for the area you're interested in as they may provide maps online or be able to direct you to where you can find that data. One thing I should point out with relation to the crime maps is don't just assume a neighborhood is "bad" solely because it shows a darker color. Take into consideration the types of crime. For example, a house may show up in an area that shows a lot of crime due to its proximity to a large retail store that happens to get a lot of sticky-fingered people coming through the doors. I focused on "crime" when first moving to FL and discovered that areas that look low crime appear that way because there's nothing around them for miles whereas if you're around a bunch of shops and restaurants, you're more likely to see more crime. Better to filter on what kind of crime is being committed (i.e., murder, rape, and other violent crimes as opposed to lesser crimes.)

You might also look at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's "Calls for Service" web site. You'll have to dig around to figure out what the grid you want to look at is, but once you've done that you can search for pretty much anything.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office - Inquiries Online

This will give you an idea of the number and types of calls in a given area.

Thanks. That's kind of cool. I guess there was a traffic stop just a couple of mins ago right outside my apartment. He must not have turned his siren on or I would have heard that lol.
