Here we go again Already the highest sales tax county in Florida.

"preliminary approval to a number of fee and tax increases over the next fiscal year, including hikes in the storm water fee, solid waste collection fee and mobility fee."

"potential hikes in the county’s fuel tax, bed tax, communications services tax and even property taxes."

"“We’ve got huge challenges — affordable housing, transportation, go down the list,” he said.

TBT article: With a growing number of fixes on its to-do list, a County Commission now dominated by Democrats is ready to put every option on the table.

“We cannot just keep increasing fees to get ourselves out of these problems,” she told her board colleagues. “They have to be able to withstand the test of downturn, everything. Otherwise, the effect it has on developers, homebuilders, commercial developers, whoever — it will drive people out of this county. It will drive business away.’’

If they turn the county into exactly what all the New York/Northeast/Chicago/California transplants are escaping from, then maybe it'll get them to overlook the Tampa area altogether.

All the pipes and roads are old as mold. Someone has to pay the billions it will cost for the Tampa area. 80 to 100+ years old and they don't last for ever trever.
