Malls are pretty much done other than teens going. One by me is all gone. Just a BEST BUY left and they are gonna give up also. Sears closed up 2.5 years ago and most all the other stores.

Last time I was there a few years back it was really crowded, father in law lives on the other side of 580 in the Regency Heights senior citizens trailer park.

Crowds are nice but if people are not buying and stores are not paying rent then malls become 150mil in debt. Lots of business were just hanging on before covid. Covid pushed lots of them to bankruptcy.

In struggling middle-class areas probably more so where most residents are thrilled with options like Kohls, Marshall's, TJ Maxx and Ross. Also teens hanging out in malls hasn't been a thing since the 1990s largely. Malls in nicer areas or of the destination variety still continue to thrive, although FL is probably the worst among the more populated states. Off the top of my head in FL we have super-regional enclosed malls like Aventura, Dadeland, Boca Town Center, The Gardens, Edison Mall, International Plaza/Bay Street and The Avenues with higher end retailers that still thrive on local resident support and those willing to drive a distance. There are a handful of others like Mall at Millenia in Orlando, which relies almost entirely on international tourists to keep the high-end tenants open. Malls overall had oversaturated and we're seeing a market correction, not an elimination.

I was referring to the amount of traffic. The mall wasn't dead, it was lively. How am I supposed to know their internal finances. Bankruptcy doesn't mean destined to closed. Circuit City and Toys R Us deaths were self inflicted. The mall going bankrupt doesn't mean it is doomed to die.

Thank you everyone for your input. It’s cool if a mall isn’t your cup of tea. I just love getting out of my house whether it’s the mall, a grocery store, or the beach. I’m very happy to hear from the locals. I miss Natural Wonders. I also miss that cafeteria that was on the 2nd floor across from Aladdins Castle arcade.

I’m also happy that the MJ Morning Show is back. I have to stream it. I miss Tampa and am excited to return next year. Go Bucs!!!

I miss Aladdin's Castle. Spent way too many quarters there in my youth. Fortunately there are places like the Replay Museum where us older folks can go and relive our misspent youth playing arcade games.
