Wow!

Way to be welcoming. Didn’t know we were being selective about who we wanted moving here. There’s some sort of disconnect in your statement, as you used the word “free” while expousing exclusion.

How open minded of you.

I’m guessing you’re from North Florida…

Clearly not a resident of the I-4 corridor. How ironic that their handle has the term "christian" in it, yet their words are hardly a reflection of the same.

Main things were are looking for are - good schools, near to IT jobs, need a good Indian community where my kid can easily make friends, and lots of convenience around - restaurants, kids activities, groceries, hospitals, etc. Also, currently we are planning to rent as we will be new. We need to be very sure before we decide to buy house in the neighborhood we connect with. Having said that, our first priority will be to pick up an apartment where the schools are excellent, so we can buy our house around that neighborhood going forward. Can someone pls suggest which neighborhoods shall I explore? TIA!
Another factor to consider. DC area has some of the BEST public schools in the USA. Florida schools will be a SERIOUS downgrade. You may think this is an exaggeration. It's not.

I don't know whether you have ever lived in Florida. But Florida and specifically SW Florida has a minuscule Asian population, compared to DC area. I'm sure you can extrapolate from there. Your kids are going to stick out big time in most schools. For example, my brother has kids in elementary, middle and high school in Tampa burbs. They have ZERO Indian kids in any of their classes (South Asian or even East Asian). This is a big stark difference from DC area schools.

Well, bottom line is that the OP has not listed his reasons for moving from DC to Tampa. That might be important to know.

Demographics vary quite a bit by neighborhood. There are some pockets with more Asians. It’s around 10% where I’m at, but that’s a lot for Tampa Bay.
