Hi,
I need to get my car fixed with some decent but cheap body shop. Someone hit my car front side in my absence. I need to take it for fixing it. The damage is not too bad but just above the grill in front it got a small hump and scratches.
Can anyone suggest a good body shop in Tampa/Wesley Chapel that does not charge lot of money and is reliable? I don't want to go to dealer suggested body shop as they are asking to just change entire front bumper and asking huge sum of amount. I will appreciate any suggestions

A friend of mine went to Carsmetics on Dale Mabry to have a ding fixed on her car. She was satisfied and the price was reasonable. I would check the BBB though before going anywhere.

I went to Master collision on SR-54. There are 2 and I have been at both, but the other parties insurance paid directly so I can't tell you if they charge too much, but IMO the amounts sounded very reasonable to me. The work was very good and we are very happy with it.

Most reputable shops (dealer or independent) charge pretty much the same amount in labor/materials.

If you don't care about the outcome of the car, you can take it to some of the dumpier places like Maaco.

Do you not have insurance or is it that you don't want to turn it into your insurance?

Thank you all for suggestions!

I used some body shop few years back on Fletcher..don't recall it now at all. That time my dealer simply said they would replace the part instead of lifting the dent. That would have cost me 2k for this German car ...and that body shop lifted the dent, touched up the paint and completed the job for around $700! Thats why this time I don't even want to think of going to the dealer. I don't want to use the insurance if my expense turns out to be lesser than 1k..Also since I don't even know who hit my car and since my insurance company won't be able to recover cost from other person's insurance company I am afraid they may increase my premium. So if my expense goes over 1k I probably will think of going through insurance company.

Hopefully I will be able to get it fixed without getting ripped off!!!
