Sorry, but I'm not a basketball guy. I see the TBCS site has basketball leagues listed. Perhaps they're worth a look?

On the FSSL site, if you click on the "teams quick list" there are all of the teams, their managers names, phone numbers and email addresses. If you aren't assertive enough to take that information and run with it...I don't think soccer is your sport.
You originally fussed about not making any friends. If you don't come out of your shell, it may be a long time coming.
There can't be any excuses here. If you really want to play...
