Goodness, Westchase isn't even on the map. I just happen to stumble upon the city on my search for a place to live. It seems great. Am I missing something?
Anyone live there or by there that can tell me how Westchase is?

Big city or little town?
Is there a mix of people?
Country or surburban?
Good schools?
Run down or up-n-coming city?

Also, is Westchase just a sector of Tampa, or a city on it's own?

Thanks so much!

Wink Westchase

Westchase is an area in upper Tampa Bay. It is not a city nor a town in itself.
It is a nice area, with lots of houses. I would say it is an up-and coming to answer in your words. It is close to Citrus Mall which is one of the newer Malls in Tampa.
As far as I know it is a nice area, I go by often going to other areas in Tampa. Sorry, I can not say anything about schools, for I am finished with that stage in life.

oh, so if i'm looking for a nice quiet city outside of tampa, Westchase wouldn't be it, huh?

I thought it was a separate city.

Actually, Westchase isn't a city but it certainly feels like one. I can honestly say.....you can do almost everything you need to do right there in and around Westchase. Great housing, nice subdivisions, clean....very clean environment. Local grocery stores, pharmacies, Nice upscale mall very close......lots of walking, biking areas.....selection of private and public schools.
I lived there for two years and LOVED it. I refer to it as a bit of a "bubble" in a good way. It's just very pleasing to the eye with all the amenties you will need. I felt very safe and at home there.
Good luck in your search!

If you like suburbia and looking for a place like that show 'Desperate Housewives' - Westchase is your place.

Westchase is a HUGE planned development. There's the main street, Linebaugh, and all the neighborhoods run off that. Each neighborhood has houses within a set price/size range (so don't be looking for diversity). It is a little Stepford Wives (more so than "Desperate Housewives" b/c I watch that show and at least on that show all the houses are different! ha ha!).

If you like that sort of thing, it's wonderful. They did a good job planning public green space and there are some nice shops in the small shopping area. but to get anywhere you have to leave your individual neighborhood and venture out to Linebaugh.
