Hey there.

I'm looking at moving down to tampa with my sister come this summerish.
I'm 18 and I currently live in philadelphia and work as a waitress and a bartender on weekends too (although I've had no formal bar training).
One of my biggest questions is about getting a job down there in restaurants. Is it hard to find those specifically types of jobs. I also worked at a barista (coffee girl like at starbucks) for two years/manager of a cafe. so do you think it'd be hard to find somewhere to work?

my other question is where exactly would I be looking to move so I'd be as close to all the restaurants and bars (but not dangerous) as possible? is that south tampa? central? I really don't know a lot so I'd appreciate any help!

thanks!

Not too south. South Tampa is considered near MacDill AFB/Interbay area. The area near the International Plaza, and Bay Street, is next to the Tampa International Airport. Westshore Plaza is a really nice, affulent part of Tampa, called Beach Park. Downtown/Channelside, is nice, so long as you can find a place, near Hyde Park. Which is another nice area to move, but the only thing that you'll be able to find is high end. It's use to be a run down area, in the 1970s, but it's came back in the '80s, with a vengence. It's also in the oldest section of Tampa, which is a real plus, if you're into any historical significance, of the area, in which you live.

Actually, South Tampa is the area of land south of Kennedy Blvd; surrounded by Tampa Bay to the West, Hillsborough Bay to the East, and MacDill AFB/Tampa Bay to the South. Areas like Davis Islands, Hyde Park, Beach Park, Sunset park, Bayshore Gardens, Bayshore Beautiful, Palma Ceia, Ballast Point, Virginia Park, Bayside West, Bel mar Shores/Gardens, Stoney Point, Culbreath Bayou/Isles are some of the neighborhoods of South Tampa.

Does it have to be Tampa, there are probably a lot of job opportunities in the beaches of Pinellas County, from St. Pete Beach northward to Clearwater Beach. A great chance to meet people from all over the world, and some very affordable living areas within a reasonable drive.
