My 2 Sons 35, 37 live in Brandon They like it there , lots of restaurants and
close to Tampa. Easy ride to almost anywhere, but the rents have gone up and so have the homes. My sister lives in Hawthorne APts there , rent has jumped a 1 bedroom is about 800 or more now. We love Old Chicago, Babe's Pizza
Barnacles turns into nightclub after 9pm.

I forgot to mention, If you rent apt, stay away from Charleston Landings -bad news. They advertise on internet alot. My son and sister both moved from there apts, when hot water heaters blew up and flooded the apts.

Default Brandon crime

I have just got my car broken into on Friday and they stole my satellite radio. I live in Indigo Point and just moved here from NJ about a month ago. The thing that I don't understand is that I lived on the border of Newark and in Queens NY on the border of Bushwick Brooklyn and it's worse there. Otherwise, It's good. The people are extremely friendly. I guess I should of taken the radio out. I know for next time.

I live right down the street from there, in another apartment community, and I work at the one I live in too. Indigo Point has become....worse over the years. Besides, it's also by Heather Lakes, not a great housing community.

Yeah, I agree. And they can't say everything is remodeled. What a load of crap!

I'm only staying within a year. My husband and I are planning to buy a house before the market goes up. So, I guess it's not too bad. Where I used to live in NJ, some people get robbed at Pathmark Supermarket at 10:30 in the morning. I heard also that kids are doing it.

"Barnacles turns into nightclub after 9pm."

Is it still a nightclub setting? I'm looking for a place to meet some friends for a birthday celebration on a Friday evening. I googled it and it seems like a sports themed atmosphere?

To superbecky79....
Yes, Barnacles still turns into a night club after 9 p.m. on Friday's, though with the economy the way it is, it's not a "happening" place, but still a great place to chill with friends for drinks!!! As a DJ myself, I know DJ T-MONEY, the resident DJ working there, and he will take requests too!!!!

Brandon is an eyesore. Very congested, lots of fastfood joints and hundreds of small strip malls. Very ugly area, imo.
