I'm interested in a condo near Longboat Blvd/Newtown Cir. Some neighborhood comparison website said that this was a higher-than average crime rate. I looked at the Tampa PD link that was posted for police calls, and apparently this area is outside of the city limits of Tampa?

Is this at all accurate?

Longboat Blvd is a safe area as is North bay village. If you are looking at something that goes by zip codes then yes, there are some areas east of Northbay village where there are problems mainly with kids. That is a nice area. You have a Publix and other stores right across the street. The bad part is rush hour traffic.

I have lived at North Bay Village for over 5 years now & have never had any concerns or problems with crime in our neighborhood . The community is gated & has security guards that walk the property on the weekends. There are "bad" areas of zip code 33615 but North Bay Village as well as the entire Longboat community is overall a wonder place to live.
