I am looking to see who has gotten a fiberglass or gunite pool installed in the last couple of years. Why did you pick that type of pool and how much was it. I am trying to see if I can keep the cost around $20k including the deck. Any recommendation on contractors in the Tampa, fl area will be helpful also. Thank you in advance for any feedback.

I'd be surprised if you can get a pool and deck for 20K - unless you do an above-ground pool.

Considering I just spent half that amount getting my pool and deck refinished, I don't see getting a new install for that price.

We are having a gunite pool installed right now in a new construction home. Base price for the standard package is $32,000. This is for a 12' X 24' pool, concrete patio/surround, all standard equipment and a screen enclosure. We added an electric heater, small waterfall feature, pavers instead of concrete and extended the patio and cage about 13 feet on 1 side, 6 feet on the other side and 2 feet in back of the pool. That added a ton of extra square feet of pavers and cage, but we wanted the extra space. That added about $14,000 to the price. So we are looking at around $46,000 for the whole package. Its going to be our outside oasis and we are ok with the extra cost.

So $20,000 might be a bit low for a new pool.
