I'm planing on taking a vacay this spring break. I'll be traveling from orlando to our hotel (microtel). I thought perhaps it would be nice to take the scenic rough through the Withlacoochee (croom) forest. (in out pt cruiser). Do you think that would be safe? Any thing I should be warned about?

Also if you have any info or advice on this area i'm more than happy to hear it.

Thanks so much!

Also, looking at the googlemap satalite image of Redden Praire Pond, it looks very blue and beautiful. Can one go swimming there?

Every time I go to Orlando I take SR50 through the forest.
It is the quickest and nicest route.

It is an old mining site and is private property.

You can't go swimming there and wouldn't want to.

Thanks for the advise. I've booked our stay in a cabin in the forest and were going to go on either a hike or bike ride. - I found a place I think is nearby where we can rent bikes.

Any wilderness/wilife warnings? - poisionus plants? Area not to go in/to?

Thanks again!
