I am sure you guys hear this non-stop.

I am moving at the end of May down to the Palm Harbor/Oldsmar area. Are there any part time minimum wage jobs available? I know the economy is rough right now, it is rough everywhere. Making the move will be me and my husband (aged 26) and our 2 children. We have family willing to help us while we look for a place to rent and stable jobs. We have savings and are currently selling off some assets to better fund our move. I am just looking anything in the $8 an hour range. I am a CNA in my current state and am waiting to get my CNA in Florida with the reciprocity.

Ill make this easier lol
#1. Is it easy to find a place to rent? Craigslist is over run with all these listings but I wonder if they are filled immidiatly. I do not want to stay with his family for too long.

#2. Are there jobs for CNA's in this area? Or any part time jobs (without 4 million applicants lol).

#3 What are the best Elementary schools in this area? Probably public school.

#4 When do we break out the swim suits lol

You will be battling the unemployment numbers for ANY job right now. I know a few people with college degrees working at McDonalds. You will have trouble there. Palm Harbor is a nice area though. We SHOULD be in bathing suit weather by the end of March.

I live in Spring Hill, 25 miles or so north of Palm Harbor. Seems that the nursing homes/hospice places in Brooksville (a little North East of Spring Hill) are always looking for help. Try a web search of nursing homes around your new area and check them out.

McDonald's et al usually have an opening or two a lot of times.
Lots of transient workers in that field. Its not so hard to make management if you put in the time and effort.

1) It is very easy to find a place to rent as long as you have the needed 1st/last/sec. You just want to be careful not to end up somewhere that the owners are foreclosing and are just trying to rent the place out until that happens.
2) There are jobs for CNA's. Check the requirements into getting your license transferred and get it done asap. Since the CNA courses are so short and the test somewhat easy, alot of people have chosen that as a "go back to school to get a new job" path.
3) Pretty much all of the public Elementary schools in the Palm Harbor/Oldsmar area are great.
4) You could break out your swimsuits now if you wanted (if you find an indoor pool or a heated one at least lol) buttt to break em out for the beach or a non heated outdoor pool... thats usually the end of May-around Memorial Day usually, so just in time for when you get here!!

I think we found a nice 1036sq ft apartment 2bed 2 bath to rent today. Is $750 a good price for something that size in a good location in Clearwater? I cannot complain really since where I currently live in Iowa we pay 740 a month!

Thank you for the help, so far this move looks like it is definately the right one for us right now.

That would be a very good price for something that size...but Im just curious as to where at in Clearwater, since theres not too many apartments in desirable areas there. Plus, with Clearwater... youre going to have to take back my #3 from above....its hit and miss with the elementary schools there.
