I don't think it was as the post makes it sound. It wasn't like the staff members refused to leave and had to be removed by police. As I understood it from the news, the teachers were let go at the end of the day. The police were called when the students protested the layoffs and that is when the trouble started.

One thing is true: These kids who have nobody else but their teachers are some of the most loyal people you will ever work with. They will break your heart and drive you nuts, but they will do anything for that teacher who cares about them.
