I had to look up articles on the bill to see what it was about.
Thank you for doing so, as I did not know how!

In fact, she sounds exactly what I would imagine a senator's daughter would sound like: completely idealistic and out of touch with reality b/c she's been so privileged that she's never had to deal with it. I guess this is why such bills are being passed--this is who these guys are getting their input from-their naive teacher-daughters who obviously have never taught in an inner-city school or been on the losing end of department politics. I wish that woman would get a job as a newbie in an inner-city school and see just how "inspiring" it is

I'm glad that the D-rep spoke up and tried to kill the bill; it is somewhat heartening to see that there was a very slim majority in the passing. I think that it's very funny, though, that the Dems who are usually labeled by Republicans as "out-of-touch with America" seem to be the ones (at least in the state of Florida) who actually know what's going on, while the Reps (and their daughters) seem to be stuck in their ivory towers.
I know this post is older but I just resd it and wanted to add that Thrasher's daughter is an ex-teacher. She's a stay-at-home mom now. I could do that too but, I'd be on welfare!
