I was ordained in the Congregational Church, as was my dad and his dad. That is the church founded by the Pilgrims who came on the Mayflower. (I descend directly from 11 Mayflower passengers, so I am a Pilgrim by genetics as well as choice.)

I am curious as to whether I can find Congregational Churches in Tennessee (I meant Tenn, not NC. Sorry.) I see a lot of Baptists...

Uh, hello? The Congregational Church merged into the United Church of Christ (not to be confused with the Church of Christ) a number of years back. Do a Wikipedia search.

Uh, HELLO? No it didn't. SOME did, but 102 churches went to the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches, about 60 went to the Conservative Congregational Conference and a large number remained independent.

My dad and grandfather were instrumental in forming the NACCC.

Don't trust Wikipedia.

There's one out in Hillwood in west Nashville near Hillwood Country Club. There might be more; that's just the only one I've noticed since I drive through that area a lot.

I don't know of any here in Memphis. We have 3 UCC congregations. We also have several Disciples of Christ congregations -- Disciples are relatives of Congregationalists.

Best wishes.

I do not know of any in my area (east Tennessee); doesn't mean that there aren't any. I do think that there is one in or near Abingdon, VA (another great little town in southwest Virginia).

Last I heard the Chattanooga church was looking for a new pastor. I grew up in that church - parents are no longer there. It just became too liberal for them.
