Another example would be highs in the 60's all week (in May) then Saturday morning we woke up to no power due to a overnight icestorm.
We have the changing of the seasons as you do, but we can change to all 4 seasons in just a day or week.
Also, right now it's 48 degrees (which is not cold for us) and I can feel it aching in my bones and my husbands bones are aching and his asthma is starting to act up with the colder weather approaching. We are looking to move to a warmer climate, one that doesn't get below 20 degrees or below 0 for months on end. (Winters here are Nov.-May, sometimes June)
OK, well like I said it is warmer here. I'm not sure when the last time we had a rain/hail/snow combo was, been awhile although we do get a bit of thundersnow now and then. We're currently having some very warm unseasonable November weather. Currently 63 at my house. Still haven't had any weather cold enough to kill my peppers, usually that happens about mid-October. The current weather prediction for my part of the state has the temps topping out in the 70s on Tuesday, thunderstorms Wednesday and in the upper 20s Thursday night. So we do get some pretty sharp changes.

Agreed. I thought New England was the worst for abrupt weather changes but I swear Tennessee trumps it. However, yes, we have much nicer - read: warmer - weather. Our seasons are nicely spaced out.

Of course, I'm really describing East Tennessee. West and Middle Tennessee can get incredibly hot. Not that we don't see that over here, either. It's still the South, after all. But I don't like the incredible heat or violent weather over there. Not as bad as Florida but almost. And part of that area has a portion of Tornado Alley in it. If you are use to that sort of thing, though, I'm sure it wouldn't be that disconcerting.

Hi hiknapster, here in middle TN we have had a few tornados roar through, but luckily they have all been north of us. We have lost several trees though.

I've started checking out the Knoxville area. I remember back in the late 90's, during our trucking days, we had a layover one weekend in Knoxville. We parked our big truck at the truck stop, rented a vehicle, and spent the weekend visiting Cades Cove, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Wow, unbelievable scenery!! I thought then, and still think now, that the Smokies is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I told my husband that if I go before him, I want to be cremated and my ashed scattered in the Little Pigeon River!

I didn't realize the weather was a little cooler in East TN.....sounds good to me. It is so hot here it sucks the life right out of me when I am out in it.
