How bad is the drive on I75 from Knoxville to Chattanoga any roads close to the edge of the mountain?

Easy Drive. No mountains close to the interstate. Only thing to watch out for is dense fog in the right kind of weather...

Easy drive, the only mountains on 75 in Tennessee are north of Knoxville, but they are not bad either. Interstates dont allow the road to be as close to the edge of the mountain as do state highways and smaller roads. Fog conditions can be a problem on that stretch though so be on the watch for it.

As everyone else is saying...the terrain is pretty easy. No more than a few rolling hills. You are essentially travelling alongside the Tennessee River and lakes (though much of the time, you can't even see them). You're in the Tennessee Valley (or just The Valley).

Are you wanting to be close to the mountains for a scenic drive? If so i recommend 411. A lot of it is 4 lanes and passes by some beautiful scenery.
