I love the ride up thru Sequatchie Valley... i think it's hwy 28.... The escarpment of the Cumberland Plateau rising on both sides with a scenic narrow valley in between.

Best if you are not in the back seat.

That is a great drive, Jeff! We don't have a back seat, but I would guess it is worse than the ride I usually get in the passenger's seat.

But, oh so beautiful!

The drive along Rte. 64 from Rte. 19 over to Elijay is for sure another drive that shouldn't be missed.

Beautiful pictures, mbmouse! It makes me long for spring and all of the foliage to reappear.

We did this route in early January. The ground had just enough snow cover, picture perfect, and the scenery from the viewing stops was gorgeous. There was enough powdery snow on the walkways to make me feel like I was reliving my childhood days in WI.

Wink So many beautiful drives; so little gas money!

I think that this thread warrants a list of all of the beautiful drives that those of us who are Sunday-sightseers may want to take! I'll get back to you. This will take a few minutes.

Cool You can't always trust your GPS, either, alleycat.

Yep, all set and ready to roll, alleycat! We'll probably still get lost, but we have actually had some of the prettiest drives while floundering around trying to get back on the correct route.

(While working in city engineering I was one who feed the coordinates into our GPS program to map out the county roads, sewer and water lines, etc. I know how badly things can get messed up if you are just one digit off while entering!!! "What do you mean this is Ahmedabad, India?!)
