Hiknapster,

Recognizing your appreciation for proper grammar, your response to amyfw should have read, in part, "There was a teacher WHO came to Knoxville..."
I'm sorry, but your post bothers me.

It seems to be true that education in East Tennessee is the least anyone cares about. Our taxes are the highest in any counties outside our area and yet our schools are falling down. Most of our Principals and Assistant Principals are wanting to run for public office and will not support teachers but will allow students with any influence at all to dictate policy. School Board members are not full time and often do not encourage interaction with teachers who have problems with administrators so are blind to sloppy and often criminal performance. East Tennessee is a wonderful place if you want to criticize and compete always looking over your shoulder for the fatal blow. It will come from behind!

Excuse me. Where the heck are you talking about? East Tennessee is a big area, I live in Knox County and have not experienced anything like that, and by the way, I'm from a state that is renowned for their public education. I also lived in Lee County, Florida, where the educational system was deplorable.

Specify.
