Tennessee had 4th highest percentage inbound moves in 2017 according to Atlas Van Lines.

Atlas Van Lines says Tennessee 4th in nation for percentage of people moving into state | WZTV

I noticed that the latest census estimates are back on track with 65,000-70,000 annual increase. For the past few years it was estimated to be around 50,000. But I think the '20 census will show that the rate did not fluctuate that much. I expect it will average slightly higher than the previous decade. That would put the average annual rate at 65,000 per year and a total population at 7,000,000+/-.

I would imagine that it is centered a lot around Nashville. I have heard some amazing stats about the droves of people moving in each week.

Yep, when you see the TN inbound moves, it is basically metro Nashville, with some going to Knoxville and Chattanooga, and crumbs for everyone else.

Ugh, and here I am in the process of moving from NC to TN, primarily because Raleigh has grown too fast and the infrastructure can’t support the population. Oddly enough, Boise ID was first on my list of destinations prior to moving from CA to NC. My reason for leaving CA? Too many people...

This doesn't surprise me at all. TN is still a good value for your money when taking into account what it offers vs COL.
