They may already be booked but this place is cheerily and cheesy fun. https://innatchristmasplace.com

I don't know the cost but people seem to love it.

After watching Dolly Parton's Christmas Specials, I am always tempted to spend Christmas Vacation in the Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg area.

I wonder if it is any less crowded than the Summer time?

In recent years, I have started staying on the other side of the Mountain in Cherokee, NC to avoid all the masses.

Anytime of the year, you're better off going to Pigeon Forge/G'burg during the middle part of a week, and of course, there will be more crowds during the holidays.

I would definitely bypass Gatlinburg anytime of the year. There are much better places in east TN and WNC to use as a base.

The big thing is that snow is fairly unlikely. Yes, this cold front is coming in, but we rarely have a white Christmas. 2020 was one - before that, it was probably at least five to ten years.

If you decide to go as far as Nashville you might as well swing over to Memphis and catch their Starry Nights exhibit, maybe the zoo lights too if you like zoos.

Not sure if TN had light snow to 0.25 in. But it is plenty cold. Very rare for Nashville to be zero or below.

Travel via BNA could be delayed if not cancelled. Call your carrier to be sure.

On the highway watch for ice conditions. Going up/down hill can be a chore. Salt won't work until it gets warmer.

Dollywood announced they are closing until the day after Christmas because of the bitter cold. It's a great place to visit when lighted for Christmas and it will be warm in the 60s for the new year's weekend.

Ha ha that's funny Liz. Are you saying no one wants to go there because it's too crowded? I'll admit I prefer to visit the Smokies via Townsend but millions of people don't agree with us.

Of course, plenty of people want to visit Gatlinburg, as evidenced by the many tourists who frequent there. It’s not our cup of tea. It’s the tackiest place we’ve ever been with hoards of souvenir shops lining the main st. Granted the area is beautiful, but there are so many other quaint towns in east TN and WNC with equally beautiful scenery. BUT, to each his/her own…
