Anyone have any damage out there? So far it looks like we only lost a single massive pine tree, but it came down on the power / phone lines, so hubby's calling them now to let them know.

I called earlier when it was getting close to home to make sure he was ok and wasn't getting an answer. I tried 4 times, no answer. Got worried and was about to leave work when he finally answered the phone. He'd been asleep!!! Had no clue what was going on.

He went to check the property and said the wind was tossing him like a rag doll. Rain coming down side ways. And I'm missing it. It's the closest I've been to a hurricane since leaving Florida. And that's about all I miss from that blasted state!

So - how'd everyone else come through?

I don't think we encountered any damage here outside of Humboldt and Jackson, TN. Well at least my property hasn't. The winds are still VERY strong, however. Hope me and my little 06 Honda Civic don't get blown off the road when I go to work today. Heh.

Here's some of the damage we had. The more I see and knowing where everything is in the property, the more I wonder if it was a small twister that came through. We've got a total of 6 trees down so far and 5 of them are in a pretty much straight line. Of course it could have just been a really strong strong wind that blew in that line, but ......

We are just now starting to get wind and a little bit of rain here in the Tri-Cities. My satellite TV keeps going in and out. Winds are just now starting to gust here and there . Hopefully it will just blow over and be done with. Although we are under a tornado watch until 9:00PM but it has been about 50 years or more since one has touched down in this area so I don't think anything will happen other than the wind and rain.
Good luck to everyone though!

Curious.... was it a Tornado ? or a micro burst ? Makes me wonder when you see a small area less than a acer with trees toptable over or up rooted....

We had a tornado watch in Oak Ridge in Anderson County but Roane County and Blount County got a tornado warning - Take shelter immediately - from the weather folks in Morristown. I know because I put on the TV and just like the last time this happened, the screen went black and the message from Morristown was on the full screen. There was a third County but I can't remember which one but it's one adjacent to Blount, I think.

The wind and rain were outrageous. The birds were on my balcony. But once again I would like to say kudos to Oak Ridge electric. Once again, I did not lose power. This is so unlike other places I have lived and there are a heck of a lot more trees here. I haven't looked around yet to see if there is any damage in the area.
