i'm not sure about the crime...i don't really hear about much in harriman. the surrounding cities i've heard a few things... but not much here. but you said it didnt matter anyways [[and with 3 huge dogs i see why!]].

How far is it from Harriman to Knoxville?

Looks like 46 minutes, or 43 miles, but that is from the center of Harriman to the center of Knoxville.

Your mileage may vary!

My husband's looking at the east tennessee technology center area (Cherahala Blvd.) which is in the western area of Knoxville. We clocked it at about 25 minutes--Harriman is really huge and so is Knoxville so indeed, it might take you a half hour to get to work...or an hour and a half.

Small in terms of population and what not, but I had a definite impression it's big square-miles-wise, isn't it?

I think the Harriman zip code covers a whole lot of county in between the lake, oak ridge, and oliver springs. My folks live in the harriman zip code, but are spitting distance from Kingston (on the Harriman mail routes b/c of the old ferry across the Clinch - and thats been a bridge for 20 years).

Ashley09 My husband and I are thinking of moving to TN in the future. I have gone on many real estate web sites and came accross this listing in Harriman. It is located at 908 Crescent St. It looks like a lovely house. I am very parcial to older homes as they have so much character. The house seems to good to be true. Are you familiar with this street? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Kim
