What a load of BS. What did they use? Economic indicators? I've been to most of those cities (though admittedly not Stockton, or Flint, hahaha) and not only did I have a lot of fun, but the people who lived there that I was partying with seemed to be a lot of fun too. Well, that or they were so drunk they didn't care that they lived in Memphis or Miami.

Exactly! Going somewhere for a week or so is different than living there. If you read the details then you will see WHY they are miserable

I was really surprised to find Chicago on that list. Most people I know consider it a wonderful city with mid-western friendliness. Even though I've never been there, everyone I've met from Buffalo for the most part have been really nice people too.

I wouldn't want to live in Miami or Memphis. I'm sure hitting Beale Street or South Beach is fun, though.

Living in Chicago wouldn't be too bad. I could eat my way around the city!

Forbes' lists are getting more and more ridiculous. I can remember when they had pointed out Punta Gorda, FL as the next biggest thing and the housing boom was about to implode upon them. That is only one of many, many instances where they were very far off.

I don't know if they throw darts for these lists, or what.

Not surprised at Memphis.
A city that spends a ton of money to lure a losing pro sports team to relocate there, among many, many other crazy things, like a divisive mayor, horrid schools, etc. The list is long.
Glad I'm not there any more.

They do have good barbecue though...

I hate saying this as a Tennessean, but is anyone truly surprised that Memphis is on the list?
