Tesla doesn't really tell you how they're breaking down lease payments in the advertising. If you look at it though they're clearly playing with some numbers.
Model 3 SR - $334/mo with $5229 due at signing ($48,880 MSRP with delivery), 1.72% APR
Model 3 LR - $540/mo with $5735 due at signing ($ 51,380 MSRP with delivery), 5.9% APR
Even with the subsidized interest rate on the SR over the LR there's more going on to get that $200/month price difference in lease payments. I mean, it's kind of a paper comparison as obviously Tesla discontinued the 3 LR but the cars are only $2,000 apart in price on paper and that's never going to result in that much of a difference in lease payments with $500 more down and 4% higher interest, not even close. I'm sure if you went through with the purchase the terms of the lease would be spelled out in terms of cap cost reductions, residual and whatnot. Tesla just doesn't list it in their advertising.
