I only base it on a southern calif perspective (LA/OC where I lived). I don't know how they might compare with other areas of calif.

I was wondering about that question, myself. I mean, this is Texas, not California. A VERY odd question.

Everyone knows that Austin is the one. why even ask?

By the way, that IS NOT a compliment.

Loaded poll. I voted El Paso just because....

Exactly this is NOT a compliment. Texas welcomes everyone (and is probably friendlier than most every other state), but Texas should remain Texas.

I have to say, this almost does sound like a loaded poll, no offense to the OP. But no other city in Texas ever even gets called "Californian," with the very notable exception of Austin. And even then, I would consider it more Californian than any other city in the state, but it's still not very Californian.

Texas & California share quite a few similarities even though both are very different states culturally & politically.

Renaud meant no harm. He seems to really like Houston & I think he even plans on moving there from France some day.

I've lived in Southern California and Austin and Dallas and I don't find much similarity at all between California and Texas. The only reason I voted for Austin on this poll was because it's the most liberal of the cities in Texas and even then it does not come close to Southern California.

All else is different.
