I'd really like to hear about that as well.
Will do, although give me a day or so.

Don't want to get too far OT here, so let me just say for now he is a contractor and built the shack that was blown up. Also, parts of that final scene in the Cajun village were filmed on family property and some of the old set still remains. He directed us down there one time, and it is pretty much a collapsed pile of tin and rotted boards now, amongst overgrowth (we had a hard time navigating down there!), but it was interesting. What really surprised me was how small the area was. I guess camera angles can do quite a bit! Anway, again, will DM you on that soon!

To get out there and back I passed through Texas, twice! The whole way, from El Paso to Dallas to Louisiana in the beginning, and from Corpus Christi to El Paso on the way home. I went to stay with family briefly in Princeton, Texas. And then we passed through nice little places like Mineola and Tyler. I even went to see my cousin's business in Marshall (TX Gates, bbq grills and stuff). I really liked towns like Sweetwater, Abeline and others. The people were nice to us along the way. We saw everything from Dallas to Beaumont to Houston to San Antonio. I really liked East Texas and the Hill Country. I even passed through a few places that could have been a dead ringer for Arlen.

I can honestly now say, that I understand why you Texans love Texas so much. Because I loved it too.
There are lot of places in Texas that certainly could pass for Arlen but Mike Judge has said that Arlen was actually inspired by Richardson.

And Hank's neighborhood was based on the neighborhood Judge lived in with the old 70's houses was in Garland.

Texas was great though, Arlen or not.
