There is a 4PM press conference today and it appears that Wade will be fired with Garrett replacing him as the HC.

Wade Phillips has been fired. The announcements came about 1:20 PM on the local TV channels. Jason Garrett is the new interim head coach (oh, goody!).

hey--he is on the payroll and this way Jerry can fire him in off-season--

there is no way he can handle being head coach--
anyone who saw that game last night knows the players have no faith in ANY of their coaches...

supposedly Phillips said he spent one day last week watching game film from past two years and realized that the players were not using good fundamentals--
WHY would it take a head coach
1--two years to figure out what anyone in the viewing public could have told him was happening for past year or more
2--why would have have to WATCH game film to tell him what his eyes should show him on any give play in any given game...

he is just DUMB--
he is not a leader--
he is a lost puppy out there on the field...

the fact that he chose to spend timeouts on DEFENSE=-=how stupid is that...
and to use time out on the touchdown that really wasn't--
such shows what a waste at field tactics he is--and he has such poor history of winning when he asks for a review...
either bad info from the coach in the sky or just bad decision personally--but it was not getting better...

not sorry to see him gone...
some of those players better watch their backs--everyone is going to be pointing the finger now...

The most bizarre thing is the statement that the players were "surprised by the decision." Really?

I can hardly believe that the players were very surprised. They might have been surprised at the suddenness of it, thinking it would be at the end of the season, but the Green Bay game made the the team a laughingstock, and Jerry Jones isn't a very funny guy when it comes to losing money.

I don't think Jason Garrett is going to make much difference this season (if ever), but I doubt that anyone could do much good this season. The die is cast.

Ole' Jerrah had to do what Jerrah had to do to keep himself from looking bad of course

I agree that Wade wasn't the best of coaches, but it could have been put off till the end of the season, which was "unofficially" several games back.

Everyone seems all cheery like its really gonna make a difference at this point.
