Tell me where, when held and what sort of an event. Doesn't have to be a huge event, could be a small town parade etc.

Thanks!

Screams Halloween Park is a Halloween event in Waxahachie held on the fairgrounds for the Scarborough Faire. We drive from Houston to visit it. It is about 4-5 haunted houses, food, drinks, karaoke, some kiddie events, and mostly just a family-friendly Halloween village. I have been to Universal Studios Halloween Horror nights. I really enjoyed it, but I still prefer the small town atmosphere at Screams.

Grapefest in Grapevine! It's held mid-September every year. https://www.grapevinetexasusa.com/Fe...8/Default.aspx
Of course there will be lots of wine, and there is also lots of live music, shopping, a carnival midway, stuff for kids, etc.

Given the time of year at present it seems timely to mention Christmas at Old Fort Concho in San Angelo. Depending on where in Texas you live, San Angelo can make a good overnight or weekend trip. To experience the festival properly you should be there after dark as well as during the day. Fort Concho itself is the best preserved army fort in Texas from the very tail end of the Indian Wars days and was really close to being unnecessary by the time it opened. It never got into the ruinous state that Fort Davis out near Alpine did (Fort Davis had to be massively restored, in contrast to Fort Concho whose buildings had maintained their integrity). Unfortunately if you didn't attend this year, Christmas at Old Fort Concho happened this past weekend (Dec 3-5) but there's always next year!

I've been to Wurstfest in New Braunfels a couple of times. It occurs in late October/early November each year. Lots of good food and polka music/dancing of course. It's probably not for everyone but I had a good time.
