Dh and I are planning a move to the area of Georgetown/Round Rock/Cedar Park, etc. area. We have Tricare (retired military) medical insurance. I'd like to hear from anyone who knows if this kind of medical insurance is accepted by doctors in this area? We are 62. If we can't locate a house to lease, we'll most likely buy but will need to find out if we will have any difficulty in this area, utilizing our medical insurance. I'd also like to know what your experience has been.

Killeen, TX is north on I35 exit 190. FT. HOOD is located there, another option is San Antonio. You will find many doctors who accept Tricare. I would hope as large as Austin is there would be plenty of doctors to care for milatary/retired milatary.

I have tri-care through a family member. There are a ton of tri-care doctors in the Austin area. You'll have no problem finding a doctor that accepts!

Our Tricare Prime manager is Dr. Paul Oliver MD in Round Rock. He's off the east side I-35 just north of the I-45 interchange. No problems with referrals for whatever you need.
