Hi!
So I realized the last post about apartment living in Wichita Falls was in 2008 and I wanted to see if anyone could give me an update on what apartment complexes are acceptable for living in.

I'm moving there for a job in a few months and I want to make sure I'm living in a safe environment and that they won't just take my money and run!

Maybe some reviews on the following?

Stone Creek Ranch
Arbor Creek Apartments
Hunters Crossing
Crescent Village Apartments
The Woodlands
French Quarters

Any help would be great! Also heard I should stay away from Professional Drive? THANKS!

There is a nice area on the outskirts (or used to be outskirts) of WF between Fairway and Barnett Rd. called Spanish Trace (Johnson Rd). Some of those cabanas are for rent and seemed clean and with good upkeep. Also seemed a safe area. You might also try to find a house for rent in a nicer neighborhood. I found a very cute place, affordable, but that was 10 years ago. Sometimes Remax has rental properties.

I never heard of any of those apartments so they must be tucked away somewhere. I have not heard of any nice apartments in town, but you can rent a house from $1,000 to $1,500 per month.

Thanks! Would you happen to know what neighborhoods are unsafe?

don't know what's for sure unsafe, but much of Wichita Falls isn't that desirable, but may still be safe. My advice would be look around in the Southwestern part of Wichita Falls.....Area runs Kell West (highway 82) to Fairway and Southwest Blvd....also the area right around Midwestern State University is safe....lot's of college kids...but safe......also you can look around Sheppard Air Force Base in the northern part of town....some okay neighborhoods there....but a little far from major shopping areas...but I can say for certain areas around downtown look shady.
