Pecos TX is the worst place I have ever been to in my life! I was in an unfortunate predicament where rooming there was my only option.

It felt like Mexico, there is almost nothing there, and what was there was trashed. Is there a nice part of Pecos? Because all I know is that when I stayed on the street with all the motels, I peeked out my window multiple times during the night to make sure my car was still there.

It was a very unpleasant experience, I never will stop in Pecos again!

Default Pecos

Pecosans probably don't give a hoot what you think and will,in so many words, tell you don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out!!!

Okay, so you don't like Pecos. Big deal. It's not exactly a tourist destination. Not every town in Cali is great either.

First you complain about Whataburger and now you're complaining about Pecos. What's next?

Yeah, Pecos has gone through some challenging times, it happens to every place eventually.

Translation: There are a lot of Mexican-Americans in Pecos and I assume that they are all a bunch of dirty thieves because I am a bigot.

I was in Pecos the other day myself. I didn't have any reason to stop, but the sign for the museum looked interesting so I thought I'd check it out. Unfortunately it was closed on Sunday, so I tooled around town a little. I actually thought it was a decent little town. Like most smaller towns in west Texas the climate is dry, the landscape is desolate, there are lots of empty buildings due to declining population, and the demographic is mostly Hispanic rather than Anglo. So what?

Every place has it's appeal, even if the appeal is simply the cost of living and being near family. I happen to know someone who grew up in Pecos and turned out pretty darn well.

So, someone has a negative opinion of a place and they're automatically a bigot? I think duster is being a little obnoxious...
