In Houston, I see Obama 2012 bumper stickers at almost a 8-2 rate WHEN I am inside the loop. Outside the loop is more of a mix and further out in the suburbs it is the opposite, with most of stickers stating Romney 2012.

Obama carried Houston in 2008, as he did in most of the big cities in Texas so it will be interesting to see how it plays out this time.

Texas is inching closer toward a 50/50 split and being named a swing state. In 2008 McCAin only won 55.45% of the vote and with so many new transplants to Texas the last 4 years who knows if thhat gap will close or remain the same.

So, who do you see winning your city/town?

Dallas County should go Obama's way again in 2012, and I suspect that it will be the only county in DFW to do so. Basically a repeat of 2008. I can't find any data on a city by city level, but it's safe to say Dallas itself will also go for Obama.

Here's a nice interactive map showing the county level results in 2008.

Click on the state in question to see the country results.

I'm curious to see which counties, if any, switch from the party they voted for in 08.

Edit: while I can see Texas eventually becoming a swing state in say, 15 to 20 years, I don't think it's that close. McCain won by 55 percent of the vote in a largely unprecedented election. With support for Obama down overall, I suspect that Romney will do better than McCain did by a few percentage points, despite having 4 years of transplants from other places/4 more years of young voters having turned 18 since 2008.

I suspect Obama will win Austin/Travis Co. in a landslide again.

Obama will win Dallas and Dallas County and the Democrats will sweep Dallas county's local elections.

The rest of DFW will be as red as blood.

I predict Ronney will win Collin County by more than 70%.

I know that of course, Houston and closer in suburbs will go to Obama, but I even see some Obama stickers in the Katy area and other suburbs.

I see a lot of Obama stickers in Plano where I live, but its still a very red place (as is Katy). At the end of the day, they will be outnumbered.

I live in Alamo Heights (one of the nicest San Antonio areas) and while I see a few Obama bumper (more than Romney) stickers its 9 to 1 ratio of Romney yard signs.
