Not if Julian Castro wants the job. She'll either have to get in line behind him or run for a different job. I see no way that Annise can elbow out the keynote speaker of the 2012 DNC.

And FWIW, I don't believe that poll in the article.

Why do you guys complain about him? Except on one issue, he is everything you could possibly want.
Perry is a populist who ran as a Republican. He has promoted a lot of issues on both sides of the spectrum and he got his start as a Democrat. He got Amazon to knuckle under and made business cough up more taxes, unlike a lot of Liberal Governors. He is for large public works projects. He supported higher funding for poorer schools.

What poll is that? Here you go again, making assertions without a citation. If Perry runs again, he will get re-elected. He cuts across party lines. Probably with close to 60% of the vote.

As for the OP, It would be pretty interesting to see Mary Cheney run for governor in WY or TX. She would win the state election if she could get through the primary.

As for tolerance, it is easier for a gay person to be themselves in Texas than for a Conservative to be themselves in San Fran or NYC.

I'm not doing your homework for you. Look it up. It was all over the news.

I'm sitting here wondering when we'll get an elephant riding juggling clown mermaid with 6 fingers and a lisp as governor!

Let's see now, how else can we "categorize" people and point it out here on C-D?

I would say, when Perry first started out, he was alright.. but he is a career politician now and money comes first in his mind rather than his constituents in my opinion.

I agree. 12 years in the highest office basically makes you royalty.

I don't care if a candidate is straight or gay; I only care about their positions on the issues that I care about. And that's how it ought to be!
