You guessed it! I should have waved as I breezed through. Beautiful country there!

Hey, OklahomaMom, lots of Okies move here to Texas! I have known and still know a bunch of them over the years. Some people here jokingly say that Okies are "wannabe Texans"! lol, it's all in fun, we actually have alot in common, from the accent to the food in most cases. I had an ex-boyfriend whose mother was an Okie and we'd drive up there and visit her. I love Oklahoma!

Ya, there's a lot of ribbing between the two states, but it's really good natured for the most part. I chose to live in Texas because at the time, this was where all the higher paying jobs were (and for the most part still is), but I also chose to live here because the two states are similar in many ways (values and all).

I've been to different parts of Texas a few times, and for the most part, it seems to be quite a bit cleaner than OK. The roads are far better and it definitely seems like there are more opportunities there (TX).

I agree - the ribbing is mostly good natured. I know there are some die hards on both sides, but I can't see that being an issue for us.

I definitely love parts of Oklahoma, but I also feel that some opportunities here are still quite limited. I know that TX is part of the Bible belt as well, but here in OK, getting a tatoo only recently became legal. Gambling is only permitted on tribal (Native American) land. And I know that whenever we visited the Jimmy Buffett concert, we found out that certain kinds of beer are legal in Texas and not in Oklahoma.

But we just really want more opportunity. We both have college degrees but cannot find the markets we need here. Of course, I am hoping to one day move to the "country" and live a very organic and healthy life.
