1. There are people of all types of religions in the Cities, towns and small towns. The suburbs generally tend to be more conservative than the city centers (like anywhere in the world).
2. The cowboy look is basically just a fashion thing. Not too many people get all geared up in rhinestones, huge belt buckles and giant cowboy hats. Not even people in the tiny Texas towns. Here and there you will see people wearing cowboy boots and hats, but they are usually well worn, not brand new and shiny. Fort Worth does have a cattle history but people wear normal clothes.
3. Some girls are girly, some aren't so fussy. You need to quite believing people who obviously got their information from old Tv shows and start believing what actual residents are telling you.
4. Who told you that? There are Texas accents. There are also tons of Transplants, so not everyone has an accent. Texas is a very large state, with several different regions. Each region was heavily settled by different nationalities and so their accents reflect that heritage as well. I hear that China has different dialects and accents from region to region. The u.s. and Texas is no different.
5. Austin and Houston are the most laid back. No matter where you go you will see people wearing clothes like that, even in more dressed up Dallas.
6. Hahahahaha!!! Whoever told you that has OBVIOUSLY never been in Texas. If they say they have, they are LYING!!! You both need to visit to get your facts straight.
7.????Another SUPER IGNORANT statement. And WHAT is wrong with looking nice? The veiled sarcasm about how women are here sounds like something someone from a primarily Muslim country or religiously repressive country would come up with. And I don't care if that is not PC to say...it's my opinion.

Here is what I need cleared up or some one to elaborate on.

-The bible belt and conserves mostly in the country and towns , where the liberals are in city.

-The cowboy look and country look is in the town and country not the city. You hardly find any person in city with cowboy boots or cowboy hat.The only city that has more of this look is Fort Worth.

-Girls in Texas are very girly in behavior and how they dress and look.

-Most people in Texas don't have much of accent because of so many people moving there. Most of the accent is in towns and country not the city. The only city that some people have accent is Fort Worth.

-Dallas and Houston are the most dress down city in Texas but even still most people in Texas dress better than Arizona, New Mexico ,Florida and city of Atlanta. You will hardly ever see some one in yoga pants ,trackpants ,sweatpants ,plain house /sleeping t-shirt ,tracksuit or sweatsuit so on .And you never see anyone in pajama pants.

-Most cities in Texas lack bars ,night clubs and entertainment district like other cities in Florida or California .One things people don't like to move to Texas.

-Girls in Texas are very open and sexual and go all out of way to look and act girly.

Some of this information I got here by other posters .

And number people here says over and over that southern accents are mostly in town and country because city has so many transplants it harder to find .

And many people said over and over you get less of this cowboy look in city .People that work on work on ranch will more this look.

I post link and quote but poster said most all cities in taxes voted Obama where towns and country is more conservative .

To be honest, Texas is a much more diverse state than the media or Hollywood would lead you to believe. Most of Texas's larger cities are fairly liberal, or at least a 50/50 split (Houston and Fort Worth are fairly even, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and El Paso always learn left, although, Houston elected an openly gay mayor.)

Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Brownsville, Laredo, and Beaumont all were won by Obama.
Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Tallahassee, Gainesville, and West Palm Beach all were won by Obama.

Since both states were admitted in 1845, Florida has had 8 Republican Governors, Texas has had 6. In modern times (since 1970) Florida has had 5 Republican Governors, Texas has had 4.

Your questions have been asked and answered! If you want to know for sure if it is the truth visit for a while and find out. Meanwhile I have to go get all gussied up and get my cowboy boots and hat on- saddle up my horse- ride to church so I can ply my feminine ways on all those unsuspecting men. Oops I'm already married (does that matter-since where all so easy

There is a saying that is appropriate to the OP here, I believe:

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to express your opinion and erase all doubt!

I have been to a goat-roping and a dozen county fairs, and even a sewing bee with my dear departed grandmothers...and never found a thread that made less sense than this one.

If you're basing anything off what the media or Hollywood has to say or projects as an image of Texas then you've got a lot to learn about life. Don't worry about what others say, think, or do about Texas. Just because someone says it doesn't necessarily make it so. The only thing you really know is from your own personal experience. Anything you repeat is only hearsay and is not admissible in court.

I would like some members here to clear up some of this misinformation because I was saying this in some other threads of members thinking of moving to Texas.
Pay little attention to what you read on an anonymous forum. If someone is creating hearsay they probably wish it were true for themselves.

And I don't what to be telling people wrong information about Texas.Anyways I think I'm little confused about Texas may be because of the Texas image
There's only one way to clarify the truths about Texas but you've got to be there to know what that is.

Would this best describe Texas and the people in Texas.

-The bible belt and conserves mostly in the country and towns , where the liberals are in city.
No. The bible belt is not mostly in the country and towns, nor are the conservatives. The bible belt is a name given to Texas and its citizens because people in Texas are not afraid to reference a religious foundation. And there are lots of Baptists and the Southern Baptist Convention.

There tends to be a more obvious gathering of liberals in the cities... well, just study the demographics. It's like fish swimming in groups.

-The cowboy look and country look is in the town and country not the city. You hardly find any person in city with cowboy boots or cowboy hat.The only city that has more of this look is Fort Worth.
You'll find more cowboy and country look in the country because that's where the cattle are. Nobody wears a suit to herd cows. On the other hand, there's plenty of people wearing jeans and boots, and country style wear in the big cities. Even to work. But they leave the cows and horses at home and drive their Lexi or Caddies to work. The reason your hear that Fort Worth is more cowboy is only because of its historic cow town reputation. They also tend to cattle in the countryside and drive their Hummers to work downtown.

-Girls in Texas are very girly in behavior and how they dress and look.
First, don't tell a Texas girl how girly she is. She's likely to put on her boots, heat up a poker, and brand yer ass. On the other hand, I've often heard comments about how Texas women are the best looking women in the U.S. But just like the misconception in your question, girls in Texas are largely like girls in most any part of the country. They just hide it better

-Most people in Texas don't have much of accent because of so many people moving there. Most of the accent is in towns and country not the city. The only city that some people have accent is Fort Worth.
Outside the big cities, principally Dallas and Houston, you can find all the accent you need. I came from west Texas with a distinct hick accent but lost most of that when mixed with the generic accent of transplants in Houston. And a bit of personal training. I moved to Houston when the metro population was 300,000 and left when it was a bit over 3 million. A couple of beers will bring the accent right back.

Fort Worth may exhibit more accent but Fort Worth is a one of a kind and people there don't suck up to the transplant effect. And you can't get tomatoes on a hamburger in Fort Worth, but you can get a 'What?, you think we're stupid or something' kind of look.

Dallas and Houston can be dress up or dress down, depending on what you're planning to do. But largely, no one in Texas goes for the chav look. The whole state has more of a 'Wash your face before a date' kind of attitude.

-Most cities in Texas lack bars ,night clubs and entertainment district like other cities in Florida or California .One things people don't like to move to Texas.
For a very long time, Texas was a BYOB club state. You could NOT buy liquor by the drink. Fortunately, that's changed. Most cities are controlled by local zoning regulations so clubs couldn't spring up just anywhere and most parts of town weren't designated as club districts. And downtowns in Texas are not really destination areas for night life. And to the contrary, Dallas was long known as a party town... if you had the money to party.

-Girls in Texas are very open and sexual and go all out of way to look and act girly.
The girly thing again, see above. And again, girls in Texas are like most girls on the planet but from what you hear, they're probably just better at it.
Responses in red, please take no offense.

Yes, it should. And no, please don't. Just accept that each one of your assumptions, theories, etc. are 100% dead wrong. You've asked, posted, inferred, whatever at least a dozen times in different threads and forums. Each time you have received the same answers - that these trumped-up stereotypes you're working with do not exist.

Accept that. Move on.
