I always loved to drive through there in my convertible on the way to Mesilla----

San Antone has my favorite climate of any place in Texas.I know this is a old thread but city data encourages all additional points of view.

Out of these choices and with the qualifiers given in the OP, El Paso without a doubt. Virtually no tornadoes, little humidity (though plenty of heat), not a lot of rain, little winter weather, and not too cold.

Best weather > Houston
Worst aspect > flooding and/or freeway jams

What about corpus Christi? Is it as hot and humid and Houston?

Isn't San Antone pretty dry?

I'm exploring a place to move that has good weather (no snow) Similiar to California but maybe not as dry??? Not super humid either...
Is there such place?

The east part apeals except for the fact it looks like they are pretty small cities. I live in a town around 150,000 and would like to not have it smaller than that. Or so big it takes and hour to get to work.

San Antone gets pretty humid a lot of the time.

Based on that criteria, El Paso.

For me, I would take the Rio Grande Valley for having the best weather.

Literally laughing audibly at all the votes for DFW. Those have to be sarcastic votes. DFW's weather is pretty much the opposite of the OP's criteria.

I voted El Paso.

I'd say Padre Island or the southern coast...its rarely as hot as the mainland during the summer (if it is 103 in McAllen, its generally around 90 on the Island), a little milder in winter (these days, its in the 40s in cold days...but not 30s), not too humid or rainy. Hurricanes and tropical storms are the only major drawback, but they are not as common as they are in some spots around teh Gulf.

Yep, I live in DFW and I can second that:

Heat & Humidity - Got to be the second worst after the Houston area

Snow - Not a biggie here, but probably still more than anywhere else in Texas except the panhandle.

Ice - Probably the worst in Texas. I lived in Amarillo in the 80's and I seem to remember that it was more snow than ice, but I could be remembering it wrong. But DFW is worst or second worst nonetheless.

Windchill - I would imagine the panhandle would be worse, but again we will at least be second.

Tornadoes - Probably even with the panhandle here too.

Hail - I don't really know how much the rest of the state gets, but we get a lot. It's the main reason our homeowner rates are so high.
