Feds charge Texas billionaire Robert Brockman with largest tax fraud in US History
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/robert-...2-billion-doj/

Department of Justice officials said at a news conference in San Francisco that Brockman, 79, hid the money over 20 years, including filing false returns and setting up secret accounts all over the world to hide and launder money. Brockman, CEO of auto dealership software maker Reynolds & Reynolds, is also accused of backdating records, using encrypted communications and communicating in code with a co-conspirator to evade detection.

That is a lot of money that could have went to Texas's Police, roads, firefighters, teachers, schools, our military (Texas is military city USA), our Texas Veterans, our Texas elderly (through SS and Medicare), our ones in poverty (Medicaid), our Non profits etc. These things (and more) benefit all of us. Taxes paid by every economic class goes towards these things that benefit all of us in Texas and nationally - society.

I have my thoughts on it but I am curious:
How do other Texans feel about a Texan committing the largest tax fraud in US history?
Do other Texans think more should more be done by Texas leadership and any leadership regardless of political affiliation to close tax loopholes so that the wealthy (as well as everyone else) carries their tax load?

Well, Texas has no income tax so his fraud was entirely Federal.

But it doesn't surprise me that it was a Texan. This sort of thing would be tougher to pull off in a state like CA or NY where there are both Federal and State tax agencies examining your income tax returns and finances.

But yes, we all collectively have to pick up the slack when this sort of thing happens. Or our children do to the extent that Federal spending is financed by borrowing rather than tax receipts.
