Oh I wish! I ride it if I have to be at the Convention Center, which is about once/year. My office is in NE/Central Austin by 290/I35 and the train is nowhere near this area. I checked into a bus -- almost 2 hours with a transfer (or two, depending on time) and I'd still have to walk almost a mile and get to work 20 minutes early or 20 minutes late. Uh, no. And moving nearer is out of the question because this is NOT a part of town where I'd live or feel safe.

The Highland Mall station is a mile away from I35 and 290. But--it would definitely be a drag to have to walk from the train station if your office is east of the freeway. There is the 320 bus, tho. It goes from Highland station to the Cameron Road area.

I like how the article asks whether the reader is surprised Dallas didn't make the list.

I'm shocked Houston didn't make it. It's almost always up there with LA in graphs I've seen.

My office is 4 miles and on the east side of 35, so no walking there! And even if I took a connector bus, it's still over a mile to walk...which isn't a problem if I'm in casual clothes but not in dress attire in the middle of the Texas heat. So I guess my public transportation options will be limited to when I'm on vacation and in a city that is more accessible.
