It is known nationwide Texas economy is booming and the envy of the US

56% of people in Northeastern states are moving down to Texas and Florida every year....

The thing that is different is per the posters in the forums, the Northeast people now overwhelmingly disapprove of living in the Northeast (New Jersey, New York, the 6 Democrat New England states"

The thread discussions are about dreamings of the big life in Texas where you can buy so much more with your dollar.

And the bulk of the discussion for Connecticut and New Jersey is "how can I sell my home so I can get out of here? I can't find a buyer and otherwise would be out of here... I'll undersell if I must"...my house I can't sell is the only thing keeping me from moving to Texas..... For others it's family ties but that is an old one....families are moving out if not already .... Northeast is emptying out

Default Maybe...

Maybe the OP meant 56% consider it every year, that would not be impossible, most likely true!

You make it sound as if half the state population is moving every year. What the article is saying is that of all the people who were tracked by movers in a year, a percentage of those were moving out of state and others were moving into the state. So if a total of 100 people were moved by Allied Van Lines in a year, perhaps 50 percent (50 people) were moving out of state - the rest were either moving intrastate or moving into the state.

this is funny, all of Houston's inner loop hipsters whine that the City is not a Northeastern style super dense urbanized environment. But the Northerners want to come to Tx to live the big suburban lifestyle and escape the urban rat race. Maybe we can work out a trade.

Ugh, I hope that Texas doesn't change for the worst with the influx of northeasterners. I want Texas to be respected world wide but I think the appeal of Texas is that it has very cosmopolitan major cities with all the amenities without the terrible rat race, over competive, type A environment.

I've lived in the "world class" cities in the US and being a young urban professional in these towns is the pits. Cities like Houston, Dallas and Auston are a breath of fresh air by comparison. Although I don't know if Austin can hold with all the transplants from the coasts.

I can't believe anyone seriously thought half the population of New York or New Jersey was moving out every year.
