Has there been any kind of inclement weather in any of Texas in the last few days (specifically Friday)?

Sorry, I haven't been watching the news lately...just heard something about closings due to bad weather.

Yes. Parts of the Dallas-Fort Worth area got between 1-4" (more to the north even) of snow Friday. That snarls everything and shuts it down around here.

You misspelled arctic. But yeah, we had plenty.

I was just kidding because "inclement" is an understatement.

I'm not doubting tonight might get bad since precip is finally falling again and temps are down...but I find it crazy that so many schools dismissed early today when nothing was forecast to happen til after 3 at the earliest. For example, Weatherford dismissed at 2 and Aledo dismissed "an hour early." Guess what? Between 2-ish and 4:00 we had no precip falling at all in Aledo. Roads were fine. I was driving home from the store and didn't even have to turn on my wipers.

Update...at least we are finally getting snow now.
