So a little bit about myself. I am going to graduate from Nursing school with in a few weeks, and then plan on leaving the cold north. I have lived in northern states only traveling as far south to NC and GA for vacations. As some probably know the North had been blasted with polar temps, and more snow than what I can take. I will be a 23 yr old female when I plan to move to TX, and I will be the only one moving down south. I have been doing some research about the best places to live, but never found the best answers, most of what people said was that they hate it there or they absolutely loved it.
Right now my towns population is roughly 30,000 (and I don't mind a place where the population is higher)... and mostly white, Christian, and at the age of 60 or older. Color isn't an issue neither is religion since I don't practice any, but safety is. I want to feel safe when I go to bed at night, when I come home after a long shift, and feel confident that my home will still be in the same shape it was when I left it. I also want something fun to do on my days off (what we have is a rundown bowling alley and a walmart), and trust me that isn't fun. Also affordable, I've been saving up for the past few years and have some money tucked away for when I do decide to move.
And I understand that there are alot of place that are not a good place to live, I have them here and I know to stay away, but a nice town where parents feel safe with their kids living.
Are there any areas in TX similar to my old town? I was thinking about moving to Eastern TX, I feel like that would be the best place to love.
If you do respond can you give me pros, cons, as something g in the middle. Thankyou.

Tyler has a major medical industry as well, close enough to DFW that you can do a weekend vacation, catch a Broadway play or concert.
