Hi,

I'm looking for a really neat spot on a lake or coast that has a lot of rental homes.

Do you have ideas?

Thanks!

Alley

Port Aransas is nice. A little south of there is "North Padre Island/Corpus Christi".

I have always liked that area.

Been to galveston a bunch, there are a ton of homes on the coast, and they are very nicely built up on high concrete pillars.

I have also liked the beaches in Alabama gulf coast.

South Padre is too much of a drive for me, but that is probably the best beaches in Texas.

I usually rent a place from Vrbo/Homeaway. You can stay in a nice condo or a little cottage for a couple hundred bucks a night or less. In my experience, a couple hundred bucks gets you a just OK hotel room, some are dumpy.

We are going to North Padre area next week, I didn't book a condo in time so couldn't find what I wanted. We are staying at a chain hotel on the beach, but it will still be fun.

There are also a lot of rental homes in the Rockport/Fulton area on Aransas Bay, which is the prettiest part of the Texas coast that I have seen. We liked it so much we kept our sailboat there for three years.

I second Port Aransas. My husband and I stayed at the Sea Gull Condos, which was farther south - closer to Mustang Island, and despite the fact that the building looked a little "meh" on the outside - the inside of the condos themselves were INCREDIBLE. They had been redone/remodeled, all modern GORGEOUS interior, and right on the beach. It was pretty heavenly. And we're definitely going back.
