Hello all I'm from Oregon and Im relocating to Texas. I have a few questions for you Texans, lol. Which city of right for me? As for jobs I have my commercial drivers license.

1. I love cities that are full of stuff to do and are affordable to live aswell,

2. I love swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, exploring outdoors.

3. Nice friendly people, not ghetto, not too much crime.

4. I love food! Barbaque, Mexican, all of it!

5 I love culture rich cities.

Which big city in Texas is right for me? Getting the best bang for my buck in living expenses rent etc is big aswell! My budget is max 800 a month for a really nice apartment! Looking to buy a house down the road aswell. Thank you!

San Antone is a real awesome city....so much culture and history.....lots of food.close to Hill Country and Coast. Most affordable big city in Texas......stay on North and West Sides and get a gun to keep in your house cuz there are very bad parts of the Alamo City.Tejanos are real friendly people.Blue collar family oriented people.....strong work ethic good people.I would try to learn some spanish if I were you.....you may have to go up on your budget some probably but dont quote me.Rents have probably gone up since the Eagle Ford exploded. So much great Tex Mex in old San Antone.

Hmm...this does not sound very encouraging.

For the safety reason I would prefer Austin. One of the safest cities in TX. I like San Antonio though.

Perhaps I am biased because I used to live in Big Spring and I have spent lots of time in Odessa. You just never know when someone with a gun is going to break into your house and rob you and murder you.It could happen anywhere.I am not trying to offend you or anything because I respect your point of view.Maybe its cuz I have been shooting guns since I was 5.Every city has its good and bad sides. Its called social stratification. However, thanks for your input.I appreciate your thoughts and I really do mean that.

Well even these days I do believe there still exist areas in some states where you should not worry about somebody with a gun trying to break into your house. And for this reason I would like to move out of Houston area and Texas in general in next 12 months. Personally I carry a gun all the time around my house.

1 bedroom 1 bath, gated, nice pool, I'm single 21 and currently work for coca cola. So being around others my age would be pretty cool. How is Dallas area? My job will probably be in one of the bigger cities so it can't be too far away 30 miles tops from cities
