Texas Gov. Rick Perry has asked Mike Huckabee to drop out of the GOP presidential race, but Huckabee — who says he’s banking on “miracles” in his long-shot bid against John McCain — declined.

You gotta be kidding.

Boy, he sure doesn't speak for me. For the good of the party? Dude, if you're so interested in the good of the party, quit yourself! Adios, Mofo! (to quote Gov. Perry, in case you were wondering...)

Let's see, who is actually against NAFTA? I'll be voting for that person. Even if it's Ron Paul...

Maybe we could make a deal and Perry would agree to quit if Huckabee quits. I would do anything (almost) to see Perry out of office. What a jerk! He got 39% in the election and acts like he got a mandate.

I can't believe that! Is that a joke? He is a huge X on the Texan Republican Party.

That's pretty arrogant. Perry really has no business sticking his nose in the presidential election..look what he did to Rudy.

It could be worse, with this weak field he could've tried to run for prez himself...

In fact, couldn't agree more! I've almost had it with the Republican party!

I am undecided whether to even vote or not! I have never not voted in a presidential election in over 35 years.

Definitely couldn't vote for the otherside either!

Huck is my last hope and I know he is pretty much a tax and spend guy! Mathmatically I don't think he can get in and our only hope is for a rebellion of delegates at the convention .... Defektor McCain cannot carry the conservative base of the party ... and I see ol Rick Perry as cut from the same mold! Perry has done nothing for Texas but cater to his big business cronies!

Where is Kinky when you really need him???

Dang, almost tripped getting off my soapbax!

Hold on, Tex....what about the Republican Party lately does not cater to big business cronies?

Perry's just not as shy about it.

It's rumored that Perry wants to be veep, although his endorsement of Giuliani before the primaries probably scuttles that idea for 2008. The longer Huckabee stays in the race, the more Huckabee makes the case that he should be veep. If Perry's arm-twisting helps McCain, maybe he ends up in a job on McCain's cabinet.
