So much to learn, and so difficult to find the info when it is spread out. I guess I should have tried to figure out how to do a poll.
Please correct or move this if three is ba better way today pretty please! 😇

You are not the first one to ask (I did), so I wouldn't bother. The RGV does not get much respect here if may say so.

Lower Rio Grande Valley. The "Lower" is just what I've heard it called for 50 of my 70 years. It's not a matter of "not enough respect" it is a matter of not enough, threads, posts which means overall interest, even if there is 1,500,000 estimated population for the area. Just not enough posters on city-data for a sub-forum.

As I've said before if an area gets a sub-forum, the number of overall posts will "go down" because new "viewers" will look at the sub-forum and see there comment or question has already been made or question answered earlier or previously.

But when a comment or question is asked in the Texas section, what I call, "General Section" that comment or question will soon "fall off" or "roll off" over time as a newer question/comment is added to the top of the page? Another way to say this, lol, is the same questions are asked\comments made in the Texas Section again, and again, but if there were a sub-forum, your question would be viewable for a much, much longer time, maybe not "fall off" of page one for months or years. I watched this be the case when the Tyler Sub-Forum was added. I hope I'm understandable, I don't think I'm as clear as some on here, maybe they could communicate this more clearly?

The "total" comments/posts numbers about Tyler were far greater in the "Texas General Section" when Tyler did NOT have a sub-forum. Or, when Tyler was given a Sub-Forum, overall, total posts/comments numbers about Tyler "went down" I guess most people think posts/comments would/will/should go UP when you have your "own" sub-forum, not so.

We recently discussed this very same thing (number of posts) in another thread in case it was missed.

//www.city-data.com/forum/texas/2603911-im-new-corpus-christi-supposed-rgv-2.html

Based on the sheer number of posts it's still justifiable to create a sub forum regardless if they "drop off" or not. What else would you use as a criteria?

I have "heard" most people "believe" if you have a sub-forum you "will have" more discussion about you area. Thus, I guess, more prestige? But the sheer number of posts are far lower than other regions of Texas. They too, then, should have a sub-forum. Where do you limit the number of sub-forums.

Moderator, several times, has stated, sub-forums are created by the number of posts? Ok, whatever, I understand the desire for a sub-forum, I never "lobbied" for a Tyler sub-forum. I wish Tyler didn't have a sub-forum. I would be really really busy, far busier than I am now, responding to the same question or comments over and over, lol I'm done.

Given the number of winter Texans living in the valley, I bet a sub-forum would be active.
