I'm in healthcare searching for a safe small city or town to relocate from PA, just got back from Houston,my daughter will go to SHU, was looking at college station, but never been there, Good pay in Waco area, again never been there, Granbury area? My goal is to get connected with a good church and serve the community, I also want to ride my motorcycle, I understand there's a woman's riding group near Fort Worth, I'm ok with small welcoming community. Income 55-60, a lot to consider.. Thank you for any suggestions, very much appreciated!

We have lots of small, safe towns in Texas that are bike friendly. What's your budget for housing, and what kind of place are you looking to buy?
College Station is a college town, and I wouldn't advise moving there unless you were looking to be a college student.

If you are considering Waco, then consider Tyler, for sure, great for medical jobs. The true Medical Center of East Texas the areas only Level One Trauma Center, only one in big city Fort Worth. You can really get connected to a church community here. Yeah, some people on here would complain it's too churchy, or too conservative, but really, in Tyler someone might "invite you to church", then completely leave you alone, they won't "plunk you on the head" with a Bible, if your not interested, lol. Two Masques here, so there is diversity in beliefs as well. Contact me directly for more about this, I'm somewhat "involved" here or at least familiar with options.

Tyler is really beautiful, for TEXAS, not utopia, but some folks from PA, have said they thought it was surprisingly woodsy and nice. I moved into an apartment for my retirement two years ago ,a young guy in the apartment in the above me, chose Tyler, out of Philly and Temple University, after a year here, he says he is pleased and survived the "heat" ok, lol.

Oh, The Harley Motorcycle Texas Rally was held here several years ago, 3,000 to 5,000 bikers, choice Tyler because of all the nearby roads to enjoy among other things. They came during the annual Azaleas Trails, 10 mile driving/riding routes. I'm sure many of the wife's enjoyed that.

Tyler, I know about, fun information source for me, try not to be too, bias, it's got it's faults, lol. Contact me directly if you like.
But seriously, if your going to consider a place as large as Waco, then you actually should consider Tyler unless, a specific High paying job or one specific thing Waco has, overrides all other considerations. Best to you.

Smaller towns, cities nearby.

Denton TX (and nearby) has buncha hospitals & medical jobs; housing costs very reasonable, safe neighborhoods everywhere.
Big/New Harley dealership in Corinth, tx; they have events there year-round. Buncha good churches all around DFW area -definatively more conservative than Austin area.

Good luck!
